About Ron Francis Wiring

WIRE WORKS, was founded in 1974, and is a result of over 30 years of experience in wiring street rods and developing electrical products directly for street rod applications. Having attended the first NSRA Street Rod National in Peoria in 1970 and being one of the first 100 members of the National Street Rod Association (#90), Ron Francis has, for years, been aware that fellow rodders can use help with what is often one of the least understood phases of street rod construction ... the wiring system. Ron's goal to create a wiring system that is designed specifically for the do-it -yourself hobbyist that would make the task simple, AND with high quality components throughout.

Over the years the WIRE WORKS wiring systems have gone through constant re-design to incorporate the latest in wiring technology in both circuitry and materials, so that the system is compatible with the latest in automotive trends. Today's EXPRESS PANEL, wiring system is just as suitable for a state-of-the-art, high-tech street rod with all of the modern electrical accessories as it is for one with just the basic equipment. And, because the current EXPRESS PANEL system has been designed with provisions for a full array of electrical accessories, it will not be a problem to add them at a future time. This philosophy is carried over to everything at the WIRE WORKS from something as simple as a toggle switch to the insulation on the wires themselves.

RON FRANCIS WIRING sells more than the EXPRESS and BARE BONZ PANEL wiring systems. The RETRO is a great choice for cost conscious buyers who want an easy to instal and reliable, yet not include all the bells and whistles that make Ron Francis Wiring the top name in aftermarket wiring. This model is wiring to be used when conventional locations for the fuse box and switches are preferred rather than in scratch built cars and trucks.  In these cases, the ability to relocate and custom mount the components becomes more important.   We also sell individual components and installation aids as well as a selection of mini-kits for specific applications .... all designed and created so that the finished installation can be customized to the user's preference and needs. The development of special hardware to fit custom cars and trucks has resulted in a variety of unique components, many of which have earned prestigious awards for the WIRE WORKS from the National Street Rod Association. In 1982 the WIRE WORKS Trans-mounted Neutral Safety Switch received "Product of the Year" award, and the WIRE WORKS Bright Bulbs were picked as the Best "Safety Product of the Year" in 1985. In 1994 the WIRE WORKS Crash Relay received another Best "Safety Product of the Year" award, and our electric gear shift indicator show what creative designers we have. RON FRANCIS WIRING is a competitive participant in these programs every year and maintains that status through design and development of new products on a regular basis!!

Other awards and recognition have come to Ron Francis and the WIRE WORKS over the years. NSRA's "Industry Appreciation Award" for outstanding contributions to street rodding was received in 1979, and articles about the company and its products have appeared in many publications.

Ron Francis' WIRE WORKS has grown up with street rodding and is proud to have been one of the "ground floor" companies in the sport. Built on a reputation of service and quality, Ron Francis Wiring continually strives to maintain it. Just like the majority of our customers, we're street rodders too, and we know how valuable your support has been and will be in the future.

Ron Francis has now been awarded a position as a Member* of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) for his expertise in the automotive electrical field.

* Member is the highest position awarded.
